About ArchAlive

ArchAlive identifies and gains access to prime archival ‘content’ mainly held by custodians in venerable Institutions where the Directors are well connected.  The 'content' is mainly, hard copy manuscripts, letters, sketch books, photos/ images and other historic works as created by the original authors.  We ‘capture’ the content and use it to create unique limited edition hard back books and eBooks. Our books are, where relevant, enhanced by the latest academic/expert commentary – highlighting the context of the work, both its creation and seminal importance. The books are always personalised and offered for sale as part of a subscription package at www.archalive.co.uk. Each subscription package will usually combine a beautiful, signed hardback publication (that includes the names of each subscriber in the pre-lim), a complementary eBook and an invitation to an exclusive event.

The Directors of ArchAlive have nurtured relationships with many of the leading cultural/ heritage and historic institutions in the UK. ArchAlive has agreements to access these prime archives, select appropriate material and publish.

The Directors

Michael Harrison

Michael Harrison - I have a background in publishing and considerable experience in the digitisation of rare books and manuscripts. I understand how to effectively scan rare and fragile documents because I have spent much of my career doing just that. I have strong connections across publishing and, in particular, within the cultural and heritage sectors.  I am also (or perhaps first and foremost!) a contemporary artist and recently 'Artist in Residence' at Leicester Cathedral during the re-internment of King Richard III.

Alex Rowe - I have an in depth knowledge of design/print and graphics and have spent the majority of my career adapting new technologies for use in more tradititional markets. I love finding new ways to explore, hitherto, inaccessible content. I understand the complex world of CG Imaging and have created several exciting virtual experiences for a broad mix of customers from heritage museums to property developers. I am a business manager and entrepreneur to my core and at times perhaps a little OCD - but that's a good thing, right!
